Description
Chives are the smallest member of the onion family and are referred to in the plural, as they grow in clumps rather than as individual plants. Only the leaves are eaten, since the bulbs are very small. Providing a much milder and more delicate flavor than onions, chives are most desirable for use as a garnish or to add a subtle herbal-onion flavor to various dishes.
